Macy's
Yayoi Kusama
We had the opportunity to shoot, edit, and score this short film celebrating Yayoi Kusama’s balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Known around the world for her iconic use of color, repetition, and immersive visual worlds, Kusama brought her unmistakable artistic vision to one of the most recognizable holiday traditions in America, and we were excited to help capture the scale, energy, and imagination behind it all.
From the first sketches to the massive balloon floating through the streets of New York City, the project was a chance to document the collision of contemporary art, performance, and spectacle on a truly enormous scale. We handled every part of the production process from shooting to editing, and also creating an original score specifically for the film.
Check it out, watch the parade, and experience Kusama’s newest creation in motion.
